In Steam the play time of a person is displayed in a decimal formatted number such as 0.5 hours or 21.9 hours. what is the significance of the number after the decimal point? And how should these times be read in the usual hours and minutes format?

You multiply the decimal with 60.

21.9 hours = 21 hours and 54 minutes (60 * 0.9)

6.2 hours = 6 hours and 12 minutes (60 * 0.2)

Does Steam count hours when minimized?

It doesn't matter if it's minimized or not, the game is still running. That is just dumb. I just leave it on because Im too lazy or I want to play right after my lectures. Upate: Now the playtime dropped from 104 to 82 hours lol.

Open the Steam client on your PC and sign into your account.

In the menu at the left, click any game in your library to select it.

Now at the right, look for Play Time to the right of the play / install button. This is your total hours spent playing this Steam game.
