More groups in common than total groups?

More groups in common than total groups? - Nuns of convent wearing black clothes walking along street passing men of cloth in golden color robes and common people located near building celebrating holiday in sunny day

I got a friend request on Steam so I checked out the user's profile to see the groups and friends we have in common only to find out that he has 3 groups and we have 4 groups in common (sorry about the Finnish screenshot):

Groups 3. You have 4 groups in common

How is it possible that we have more groups in common than he has in total?

Best Answer

It turns out the total groups list does not include official game groups, but the groups in common does. The difference in this case was the official Payday 2 group, which was excluded from the total groups count.

How do you compare the means of multiple groups?

For a comparison of more than two group means the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) is the appropriate method instead of the t test. As the ANOVA is based on the same assumption with the t test, the interest of ANOVA is on the locations of the distributions represented by means too.

What statistical test should I use to compare multiple groups?

When comparing more than two sets of numerical data, a multiple group comparison test such as one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) or Kruskal-Wallis test should be used first.

How do you compare groups in statistics?

Use an unpaired test to compare groups when the individual values are not paired or matched with one another. Select a paired or repeated-measures test when values represent repeated measurements on one subject (before and after an intervention) or measurements on matched subjects.

What statistical test should I use to compare three groups?

for comparing three means you can use Both ANOVA and t test. t test is mainly used to compare two group means. for comparing more than two group means ANOVA is used. ANOVA works for large sample, normal distribution, equal variances.
