Were there any changes to aggro mechanics in WoD - White Car In A Repair Shop

I haven't played much WoW since Cataclysm, so I'm not sure if anything has changed. I rolled a Resto Druid a couple of weeks ago, and in every dungeon I'm queued for I have found myself pulling all aggro off of the tanks. At first I thought that maybe it was just a couple of bad tanks, but it has been every single one that I have encountered.

It has gotten to the point where I nearly have to let the group wipe before I start healing in order to keep the aggro on the tank.

Is this typical? Do healing spells now generate significantly more aggro? Or has every one of the last 60 dungeons I've encountered just had a tank that wasn't as effective as I remember?

How to keep aggro as a tank WoW?

If the tank is not nearby, help him to regain aggro by running toward him. If he has to come to you, it makes it harder to maintain aggro on the other targets. Get close to him, let him taunt it off you, then move away and use any threat reduction abilities to help him keep it.

How aggro works WoW?

Aggro is closely associated with the concept of threat. If a mob is under attack by more than one player (or by a player and her pet), then the mob will aggro onto (i.e., will begin to attack) the attacker with the highest threat.

How to lose aggro WoW?

Can drop aggro / reset fights:
  • Hunters - feign death.
  • Rogues - vanish.
  • Feral Druids - King of the Jungle prowl.
  • Priests - macro Spectral Guise with cancelaura for ghetto vanish. (afaik this is gone in Legion)
  • Night Elves - shadowmeld - thanks u/Andong93.
  • Mages - Invisbility / Greater Invisibility - thanks u/LuntiX.

  • What does hold aggro mean?

Holding aggro is done by (usually) one person (the tank) who uses his abilities to make the enemy attack him and no one else. For hunters and warlocks, the pet usually operates as a tank in solo play. Aggro control is the art and work which is done by all members of a party to force the mob to attack the tank(s).
