What makes Lucian Mid viable?

What makes Lucian Mid viable? - Pink and White I M a Little Print Textile

It's a new thing since MSI: Lucian Mid.

But we are not talking about taking any ADC focused character in the mid lane, it seems to be only viable as Lucian.

So what makes Lucian Mid a viable choice over, let's say, caitlyn mid, or ashe mid, or jinx mid?

EDIT: I mean here what elements of his kit make it a pick that can go mid lane, or what are other ADCs missing that don't make them a regular midlane pick.

All that in a professionnal playing (LCS) stand point.

Is Lucian mid viable?

Lucian is excellent during the mid-game as this is the time where he is the most powerful. He can now go to a side lane and split push due to his Passive and basic abilities. Why is Lucian mid a thing?

He is very low range and later in the game needs to be played closer to perfection if he doesn't have a strong advantage. Getting a level and gold lead in a solo lane is much easier to do vs bot lane. I would say in my honest option that Lucian should be played mid over bot for that reason.

Can you Lucian mid lane?

Lucian has been a very strong early-game pick in the mid lane that can bully some of the champions there, while still offering flex potential. The changes would be coming in patch 11.17, scheduled for August 25. Riot looks to tone his base AD from 64 to 62, making him a little less oppressive.
