What ranks can queue with unranked for MM?
For purposes of 'competitive' MM what ranks can queue along side unranked players when there is not a full 5 man party?

In a 5 man lobby you can have all ranks, in other cases only 5 ranks plus or minus.
If you have unranked players and the lobby is not full, the ranks you can play with are from Silver 1 up to Master Guardian 1. It's made to disable CS:GO boosting companies and smurfs to queue with low ranks while playing on high rank. For example unranked account can't queue with Supreme, in the past it was possible so you could play as Supreme against MG ranks because your friend was on Silver or unranked account with very low hidden ELO ;) It's not possible anymore.

As in at all ranks, 5 ranks apart can queue together (or whatever the number is?) I think 5-6 is the limit, unless it is not a set number at all ranks. If the ranks before the unrank are to far appart, you still cannot play together.... You'll see that playing one game differently from each other your ranks both will be way different. While there is no official documentation about this, I was able to join with a Silver-ranked person, but not with a gold nova-ranked person.

It's obviously that you can play only versus MGE or lower. When I was unranked, I couldn't play with my friend who was DMG, even if I got DMG after 10 wins.

The highest rank I could get to was Master Guardian I.
When I got promoted past that, I was unable to play with unranked players any more.
