What's the point in leveling dwellers? [duplicate]

What is the benefit of leveling up the dwellers?

It doesn't seem to give any benefit, in fact it is detrimental as higher level dwellers cost more caps to revive.

The only reason I can see to level up a dweller, is so that you can select and drag them around.

What does leveling up your dweller do?

Leveling means that your dwellers get more health and sometimes high level dwellers are required to start some quest. You can increase your SPECIAL STATS by training dwellers in certain rooms. For example, the gym increases the dwellers strenght. Stats points are leveled in training rooms.

Does leveling up stats increase Fallout Shelter?

It doesn't even increase their Special stats, so what does it do then? Leveling up only increases HP. If you want to improve stats then you need to build training rooms which unlocks based on your vault's population.

What does luck do for dwellers?

Luck also affects the chance of rush attempts succeeding. In the wasteland, it increases the chances of finding items when dwellers go out on quests and explore locations in the wasteland. The higher the Luck, the better the items. During quest combat, it increases the speed at which the critical hit meter fills.
