Why don't some demomen suffer from afterburn? - Tired man looking in mirror in bathroom

I've noticed lately (maybe the last couple of months), playing as Pyro, that sometimes I'll light a demoman on fire and he doesn't suffer any afterburn. As soon as I stop hitting him with flames, they go out. Is there some new Demoman item or something that is causing this? I'm quite sure they are not being extinguished by a teammate or by picking up a health pack.

Does Pyro have fire resistance?

So no, Pyro does not have any resistance beyond immunity to afterburn if you take him with base stats. Some gear provide reduction of damage to certain elements, such as fire and explosives, so that can affect your overall damage output as well.

How long does afterburn last tf2?

Each fire effect from a flamethrower can last up to 10 seconds, afterburn duration will ramp up from 3 to 10 seconds based on how long the target was in direct contact with the flame.
