Why is my villager's trade window disappearing?

I've just built a villager swapper similar to Docm77's, but now that I've put the villagers in the slots, I can't trade with them. Once I have swapped them down and up once, the trade window appears for a split second when I right click on the villager, but disappears immediately after. I've removed the blocks above them as well as in front of them, so they shouldn't be obstructed by anything, but to no avail.
I was able to get the trades back with one of them, by pushing him around in his cell. Is this then due to the villagers being partially inside the glass or something? How can I fix this?
Below are pictures of my setup.

Do villager trades disappear?
No, the specific trade that has an X on it is not able to be done again. The villager will have other trades, but that specific trade is unavailable forever. Why is villager trade not working?
The first thing you need to understand is that there are three types of Villagers that can't trade at all: Nitwits, Children, and Unemployed Villagers. Each have their own unique problems when it comes to trading in Minecraft. Nitwits, simply put, are too dumb to do any of the Professions in the game. Why did my villager lose its trade?
After trading a certain amount of times, each trade has a cooldown period. This period is reset when the villagers work on their job block, which will usually happen twice per in-game day. The specific times for these restocks are determined by random ticks, which means the player cannot set a restock timer.SUMIT GOSWAMI | THE VILLAGERS | JERRY | SHINE | KIMAYA | YO MUSIC | LATEST HARYANVI SONG 2021
