How to repair power armour on companions [duplicate]

So I noticed that my compainion had removed all his power armour peices, although he was still wearing the suit - turned out they'd all been damaged until unusable :(

How can I repair them, do I need to make him climb out (and if so, how?) or can I some how repair them while he's still holding each item?

To my knowledge the only way to repair power armor pieces is at a power armor station with those pieces on your person, or transferred into the station itself. That being established, you'd need to go to a power armor station, dock any suit at the station (yours or your companions), and repair each piece while in the crafting screen for the power armor station.

Yes armour gets damaged while equipped on companions.

How do I get my power armor back from an NPC?

Approach the NPC you want to get out of the power armor by walking up to them. Open console with ; and left mouse click the NPC. Type callfunction "actor. switchtopowerarmor" in the console and hit return.

Can you give companions power armor?

Open the weapons or armour page on your pip-boy and find the item you want to repair. Mouse over it and press r (Y on xbox 360). If you have identical or very similar weapons or armour to use in the repairs, you will see a list of items you can use for repairs. Click them to use them.
