I've lost Dogmeat. Where/how can I get him back as a companion? [duplicate]

I have Nick Valentine as a companion now but Dogmeat isn't anywhere to be found! I'm playing on Xbox One so I can't use the console to find him like some people have recommended for PC users. Anyone know how I can find him?

Check the doghouses on your settlements, he might be in one of them, for instance, sanctuary has 3 or 4 of them built already. Also try to return to the gas station, where you found him, he might be there due to some bug or reset.

There aren't many options on the consoles.

What do you do if you lose Dogmeat?

Recover a Lost Dogmeat or Other Companion

Open up the Console by typing Tilde (~)

Type 'prid 0001d162'

Hit Return/Enter.

Type 'moveto player'

Hit Return/Enter.

Hit Tilde (~) again to close the console.

Dogmeat will shoot to you like he is being magically summoned and be next to you!

The key to finding Dogmeat in Fallout 4's Sanctuary is to look for the red dog houses found in many of the backyards. He will almost always be near one of these, whether hanging out inside or wandering nearby.

Can I call Dogmeat back?

You can ask another companion to join you, at which point you should have an option to tell dogmeat to go back to one of your bases. Show activity on this post. If you are playing on the PC, you can move him to you. I had to do this once because he clipped in a wall and never came with me when I fast traveled away.

How do I find Dogmeat If I dismiss him?

You can normally find him at the Red Rocket Gas Station or in a Dog House at Sanctuary. But the dog house is located behind the yellow house with dog bowls in front of it.
